What Is a Custom Hybrid Disc?
A Custom Hybrid CD is a data disc that can be configured in any combination of these ways:
Certain Macintosh data will be visible only to Macintosh users
Certain Windows data will be visible only to Windows users
Users of both Macintosh and Windows can share some data
This allows Macintosh computer users to see the normal icons and window positions for the data, while maintaining complete compatibility with DOS/Windows systems (and others).
Reasons to Make a Custom Hybrid Disc
Multimedia applications intended for both Macintosh computer and DOS/Windows.
Writing picture, sound, or text files that can be read on both platforms.
Software created for both platforms that you want to deliver on a single CD.
When to Choose a Different Format
If you plan to use the CD only on Macintosh computers, use Mac Only format.
If you want to make a simple cross-platform CD to share with friends on Macintosh or Windows systems, use Mac & PC format.
